Stretched out on the couch
two caramel-colored pups
offer a model for the way to be.
One lies upside down,
paws in the air,
head thrown back —
she has not a care.
Her brother,
long and lean
hugs the curve of my leg,
gentle breaths
in and out,
in and out.
He is warm and settled.
If only Saturday
could last a week!
A perfect Saturday! Reading and relaxing!

If only! You paint a cozy Saturday scene with the pups. Love it! May this carry you through the week.

The image of your pups curled up with you is precious! This poem felt like a meditation–breath in and out.
