I Have Decided

I have decided to live abroad, where languages flow
and one learns to do with less, waking in the morning
to wander a country lane, stopping to greet the
flora and fauna. Revelation resides in the hills
just waiting for me to slow down long enough
to open my heart, soak in the wisdom.

Of course for now, I want to stay put
savor life where I am, appreciate the small moments.

Do you follow?

I had to read a couple of times to be sure you were not indicating moving, just embracing the power of life abroad where life may indeed move more slowly. I hope I am right….but even if I am wrong, I get the reminder to slow it down and enjoy the road.

What a beautiful slice. This line is one I will remember for myself, “Revelation resides in the hills just waiting for me to slow down long enough to open my heart, soak in the wisdom.”

  3. I just looked up the Mary Oliver poem you modeled this after. Both yours and hers are so beautiful. Thanks for this prompt idea: I have decided… and then – Of course for now…
