Time
drips so
slowly for
students waiting,
planning, day dreaming,
bursting at the seams to
flow out the front school door like
the churning, bubbling water of
a rushing stream whose dam has broken,
leaving behind scattered bits of debris.
*This etheree poem was inspired by the brilliant Ms. Chiu Booka Writes
The form fit the function so well with this slice! The image of “time dripping” and students “bursting at the seams” on a Friday can also apply to staff. Especially today of all days. Thanks so much for the shout out.

Your image mirrors the etheree poem’s shape so well! We all know this feeling on Friday afternoons. For my 8th graders, 6th period is immediately after lunch, so I think we all feel this way during 7th period. The feeling is universal, though, no matter in which late afternoon period it occurs.

Oh I remember those days both as a student and as a teacher -especially on Fridays. Love the poem and the shape! Perfect for a Friday!
